Upcoming and past shows

Our theme:

“Beginners and Beginnings”

Next show: Wednesday, Jan. 29 @ 7pm ET, at The Speakeasy at Capo Deli

Theme: “Beginners & Beginnings”

This January, with the new year in full swing, we’re celebrating stories on the theme of “Beginners and Beginnings". This could be a story about a birth (or rebirth), a commencement, a new journey, or any other time that just felt like a beginning. Whether it’s a moment of initiation, a new chapter in life or career, or first steps in a new direction, this show is all about celebrating the beauty of getting a fresh start.

Generation Women is a multigenerational storytelling series that invites a performer in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+ to share an original true story on a theme. Our mission is to amplify underheard voices, and create space for intergenerational connection and community.

The Speakeasy at Capo Deli

Location:

715 Florida Ave NW Washington, DC 20001

***AS THERE ARE MULTIPLE CAPO DELIS IN DC, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TRAVEL TO THE ONE ON FLORIDA AVE NW***

The Speakeasy is located through the refrigerator door in the back (you’ll see our ticket greeter!).

Getting there:

  1. Metro: Take the Metro Red Line to the U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Station. Exit the station and walk east on U Street NW. Capo Deli is about a 5-minute walk from the station.

  2. Driving: Use your GPS to navigate to 715A Florida Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001. Street parking and paid parking are available nearby. The nearest paid lot is located off Georgia Ave, as shown in the picture.

  3. Biking: Capital Bikeshare stations are available along U Street and near Howard University, making it convenient to bike. There is bike parking on nearby streets if you bring your own bike.

  4. Walking: If you're near Ben's Chili Bowl, head north on 12th Street NW until you reach Florida Ave NW, then turn right. Capo will be a short distance up the street on your left.

“Generation Women gave me a deeper appreciation for the shared human experience of women. Race, color, sexual orientation and faith did not separate us, in fact, our stories brought us closer together.

It was beautiful.”
