My truth about aging
Team 20s: Mary Alice Miller is a multi-platform editor based in New York City. With experience in print and digital journalism, film and photography, radio and podcasting, and experiential storytelling and conference planning, she is obsessed with bringing great stories to life.
Team 30s: Anneke Jong is the Chief Operating Officer at a cool kids clothing company called Rockets of Awesome. She’s led teams and launched products at companies big and small, including Google. Outside of work, she enjoys ice cream and talking about her cat.
Team 40s: Verta Maloney has over 20 years of experience as an educator, school leader, and leadership coach. She tells stories through images, through words, and through her very existence. She has extensive experience facilitating groups and supporting individuals with bold conversations about many things, including race.
Team 50s: Deborah Goemans is a South African writer and storyteller living in Upstate New York. Her one-woman show “Call Me Baba Yaga” is at turns humorous, bawdy, wistful, heartbreaking, and inspiring, about a life lived on three continents and aging with love, loss, and the shiver of an ancient family curse.
Team 60s: Candy Schulman is an award-winning creative and corporate writer and writing professor at the New School. Her pieces explore themes on mothers and daughters, women’s issues, health, travel, and politics, and have appeared in leading publications like The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Team 70s: Verna Gillis is a freelance producer with a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology who gained recognition for her work promoting and producing music from various cultural backgrounds. She now performs her one older-woman show, Tales From Geriassic Park—On the Verge of Extinction, and has published a book of one-liners, I Just Want to be Invited—I Promise Not to Come.
