Team 20s: Annie Tan is a special education teacher, writer, and activist. She has been featured in the New York Times, Edutopia, The Huffington Post, and on The Moth Radio Hour. She fights for public education, unions, and NYC tenants, and she’s working on an epic book about her family in America.
Team 30s: Phoebe Robinson is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actress. She is the co-creator and co-star of the hit WNYC Studios podcast 2 Dope Queens, which was turned into four HBO specials. She is the New York Times best-selling author of You Can’t Touch My Hair and Other Things I Still Have to Explain and Everything's Trash, But It’s Okay. Phoebe has written for the TV show Portlandia, and made her film debut in the Netflix summer comedy Ibiza.
Team 40s: Emily Moore is a poet, public school teacher, and the author of the chapbook Shuffle. Her poems have appeared in The Brooklyn Poets Anthology, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and elsewhere. She may or may not be the only poet to read a sonnet about Beyoncé on NPR.
Team 50s: Abby Ellin is an award-winning journalist, former New York Times columnist and the author of "Duped: Double Lives, False Identities and the Con Man I Almost Married." She's a regular contributor to the New York Times and Psychology Today, among many others. As of this writing, her greatest accomplishments are summiting Kilimanjaro (with a broken wrist!) and naming "Karamel Sutra" ice cream for Ben and Jerry's.
Team 60s: Nina Lesiga is an artist, storyteller, ukulelist, and globe trekker. Her passion is creating and facilitating immersive, uplifting experiences for personal discovery, building connections, and having fun. Four years ago she stepped out of a thirty year career as a chemist into a full time career as an artist.
Team 70s: Jane Pollak is the author of multiple books: her first, Decorating Eggs: Exquisite Designs with Wax & Dye, was recently republished, and her second, Soul Proprietor: 101 Lessons from a Lifestyle Entrepreneur, shares what she learned as a home-based business owner who successfully turned her passion into a thriving company. When Pollak's marriage ended in 2011, she moved back to Manhattan, where she currently resides happily single.
